What is MedDrop?

MedDrop

MedDrop is a free, easy, drive-thru drop off. You won’t be asked to provide your name.

Please keep your unused or expired medication in the original container.

If you want, you can cross off your name and address, but please do NOT cover up the name of the medication. All medications and their containers will be destroyed at the end of the event and will be properly handled to ensure patient confidentiality.

You will drive through the drop off area and give medications to volunteer pharmacists, pharmacy students and hazardous waste experts.

You will be asked a few short questions:

  • What is your zip code?
  • How did you learn about this event?
  • What would you have done with these products if this event had not taken place?
  • Was this location convenient and would you come back again?

We'll Help You Keep Track of Your Medicines

Keeping track of your medicines, and taking them correctly, is very important for your health. Everyone who comes to MedDrop will receive a free brochure from the Madison Patient Safety Collaborative titled Medication Safety for You. The brochure includes a tear-out wallet card so that you can list and keep track of all of your medications. Take the wallet card along on visits to all healthcare facilities, including the hospital, clinic and pharmacy.
